The software installation CD did not work, says there is a file called hpzrein01 failed. Once I was able to download the software from HP 168Mb, the problem still persists. I tried two different laptops (Windows XP) and the problem was the same. Eventually I managed to download only the drivers without the full software. Scans are horribly done. I wanted to use it to scan photos, but continues to scan the cover, there is the entrance to the negatives. That means I had to crop the image to obtain the actual size of the photo. In addition, the scan was super slow, I can not believe that this product actually came out of the market. I'm sorry, but all that HP has given the green light for this product should go look for another job. HP would be (and the world) a favor 18 of 20 people found this review helpful. HP Scanjet G3110 by James B. Berry bought the Scanjet G3110 digital switchover especially my 2 "x 2" color collection of 35 mm slides. Scanning at 400 ppi has produced many colors beyond 2000 x 2000 format. Importing files into iPhoto first scanning for its editing and display options, has resulted in a conversion update satisfactory to use today's technology options. A new life for these images of mine, who have not seen the light in 39 years, was the opportunity to bequeath to future generations of the family. The scanner is at the base, with a solid 35mm slide or negative adapter built into the lid, a menu of options for analyzing multi-format backup files. It works! I would buy another and another. 20 of 23 people found this review helpful. Escape the scanner Maria A. Denney HP Scanjet G3110 Photo Scanner I bought this scanner from another source and you can not go to the store fast enough, is not designed to do several scans in a row - instantly take you to the "creative" side when you are finished scanning so that you must go back to analysis and other programs to scan multiple images. It will not allow setting dpi early and do not remember any settings between scans. Mine takes 55 seconds to scan an image at 300 dpi and are not multiple images placed on the bed. It also crashed my Windows XP system several times and completely locked the computer twice. You would be better to pay a few dollars more and buy a scanner REAL! Not even worth one star. Milligan I've been to a cheap duplex ADF scanner on the lookout for a while, I will scan a file cabinet of documents and shred the originals. I thought that HP was there, it is not. I spent several hours over a few days to give this guy a workout. I have scanned the stacks of bank statements (30-35 pages at once) (8.5 x 11) and mortgage documents (8.5 x 14) both single and double sided. Several times the ADF (scooter slipped and was eventually abandoned) and I had caught the people from around the jammed page, I was able to release any opportunity, its access to the paper. These pages are not shiny, just typical bank statement. Other times one or two pages from a stack of 35 would be to scan in only one third of the page. It can not scan duplex pages are longer than 12 inches, I do not know why. Duplex scanning requires twice as long as simplex because it has only a single scanner and must turn the page (I think that makes launching twice) software was not smart enough to handle the scanning of pages long mix, if I had a document (eg mortgage documents) with a mixture of letters and legal-size pages, I had to tell the software all the pages were 14 inches long, otherwise cut off the legal dimension of 11 inches. It all boils down to a lack of confidence in me. Before going to the initial destruction of these documents must be confident that I have a good electronic copies, and this scanner / software has not shown that trust. 39 of 40 people found this review helpful. Not for beginners. In PM Gross Windows XP. SP2. Single Gateway Profile computers. MS Office. Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional. With USB connection. Mostly used for scanning documents directly to *. PDF without using OCR. We bought this scanner a few months ago to replace an old HP scanner seven years, even with a document feeder, the HP Scanjet 5590 is not something you can expect to work right out of the box, not as a plug-and play as we had hoped. The included software is great and takes a long time to load (and fix!). It may also require some modifications to work at all, one of which we have received from HP on the phone and another (to improve the scan in PDF format), we have found on their website. After work, the software is not "intuitive". There are many complexities of digitization and the HP has a significant learning curve. The scanner warms up quickly, the document processor is relatively fast and reliable, but may crash if you do not like the paper fed through it. Duplex scan works but again, the card must be of good quality. We had no problems scanning a dozen or more pages, or the document feeder for scanning or indivual in a single PDF file. We also scanned a few photos * jpg with good results. We did not scan slides or negatives. We use only the software monitors and can not comment on the Properties button. We have not partially dismantled and manually clean the document feeder and has no comments on this feature. In short: If you have little computer experience, especially with the scan and you have the time to sort out the glitches, you can probably make 5590 work for you and get good results. If you are a relative beginner, this is not the right place to start. Add: 08/09. We bought a new computer with Vista (formerly XP) and the scanner. A software download required. The device is easy to install and worked faster and with fewer errors than before. UPDATE - early 2010. We started with software problems when the computer kept saying that some files were unavavilable. The solution (HP), the software is downloaded, it moves to a folder SEPARTATE open and expand the files and then install 91 of 100 customers this review helpful. This scanner sucks. It uses the current touchscreen technology offers users a way to faxing, scanning, copying and printing without a computer is directly connected. SET-UP: If I like the beast (it's a lot heavier and bigger than my previous printer: HP Officejet 6310 All-in-one) unboxed, it took a few minutes to the content and components untape that was tied in part of check the packaging. A very basic (10) step sheets with pictures and minimal manual will guide how the two heads, four ink cartridges, HP Automatic Two-sided printing (duplex) to install and add in the newspaper. They also showed for PC or Mac and connect the printer via a USB cable, Ethernet cable (Internet) or via a wireless network at home (located in the Start Guide) Once the printer is turned on it takes about 20 minutes to undergo a series of checks before they are asked if you want the 'upgrade'. As I had already established a wireless connection to the printer by following the instructions on the touch screen and type in the security code on my local network, had to make an update that took about 5 minutes. However, about 25-30 minutes, the all-in-one dedicated to point to its use was not a big deal. It took me about 45 minutes to arrive before the time of installation, and I'm very savy things. The instructions that come with it depends largely on the plans and had to be referred to frequently - at least for me. So a little over an hour on the set-up I installed the software on my main computer. This took about 10 minutes. Later I also go to the HP website and have very basic drivers (64 MB download) for the printer on two laptops (Vista 64-bit and Windows 7), a netbook (Windows XP) and 2 desktops (Vista 64 - bit and Windows XP) All computers drivers quickly and easily installed and once installed a wireless print-out of the 8500A. I was surprised at this ... drivers with no hic ups?! I also went to iTunes and have a free application: HP Photo iPrint. Once loaded on your iPhone or iTouch you can use photos or documents to send to print to this printer or an HP printer (I'm guessing that other non-HP will not work with this app) connected to the network. He worked with both 8500A and 6300 (hardwired to my router). Among the unboxing, untaping, the installation of ink and print heads, the all-in-one private installation and software setup, getting the job took about 1.5 hours. This is much longer than most printers I struggled in the past, but I took my time and slowly worked every step of the device that I am not connected to the 8500 was my cell phone: Nokia E71 Unlocked Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, 3G, Media Player, GPS with voice guidance, free Wi-Fi and microSD Slot - US Version with Warranty (White). Lee, I had not planned to do another scan until I stupidly decided to clean the inside and outside the window of my old HP scanner, because the ground was covered. I got rid of smoked glass, but added, lint checks (I, information about the scanner, because there were not many reviews on them and decided, a chance to buy the LiDE 700F The resolution of the picture and the price I could not take it. 't be happier that I mixed up the old scanner. This is an excellent analysis and makes it very easy to zoom in on the pressure. It is also very light and easy to store. One of the best things is that it works a USB cable. I'm really impressed with the quality of the scans, although I do not think that it's speed, which is advertised performed scans. It seems slower than that the list of specifications and it is the default scanning resolution of this problem for me does not bother me though, because it suits my needs perfectly. The resolution can be easily adjusted, but the higher the resolution the slower the scan. I use it (and take) between 3 different computers in 3 different rooms. It works perfectly on Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 32-bit and 64 bit. It comes with its own software that works well although I prefer to use Adobe Photoshop through. Photo Scanner comes out excellent, and color correction is great but not perfect. He restored some old pictures very well for me. Scanning text is easy, and they have four buttons on the front panel to scan e-mail. Pdf, copies and scans faster. I do not need to scan slides so I can not comment on the quality of scanned slides, but I am very curious for the maximum number of pixels for a very high scan slides. I like this scanner enormous, because the light weight, portability between machines that I use it only requires a USB connector, and the large scanned images that I agree with other reviewers that the cover feels thin and was careful not broken by one person, but it's not for me even thought much, I carry them from room to room depending on what machine I need. Just use the same care as you would with your laptop and you'll be fine. I would not hesitate to recommend this scanner in high-resolution scans for people on a budget. It is a great scanner! I do not regret anything purchased with this scanner. BTW: This is my first departure from HP scanners since 1995. HP Caution! Canon has convinced me. EDIT: (Add 7/3/10) works seamlessly with Windows 95, 2000, XP, Vista and 7 I also have to withdraw my statement about color correction. This machine scans so well that the image of something that I have scanned using the scanner, was better than the real element according to the person who purchased the items that were accused of "Photo Shopping" a picture picuture because it was much better than current paper-based money that the analysis is used to represent. It was just scanned (by scanner software - regardless of Photoshop), cutting only, and does not change the use of software. Now is a great scanner! 43 of 43 people found this review helpful. Most helpful customer reviews of 370 363 people found this review helpful. Finally - a slide scanner that works! With GK, I bought this scanner ideal After much frustration with two previous purchases, to reach those who failed: Canon CanoScan 4200F and the HP Scanjet 4890th The biggest problem with scanners is not the hardware but the software. In the case of the CanoScan 4200F (and even 8400 and 9950 models that use the same software), the driver strikes the right entirely on culture slides in standard mode "self-culture", it cuts the parts of the image but when "self-culture "is unchecked, it can not separate slides, allowing you to cut on each hand. What is worse, that the driver does not remember your settings so you can scan to reconfigure every detail again, every time you make. There are many other bugs in this driver also. Epson 4490, on the contrary, are very sensitive about cropping - it allows you to manually adjust the crop if you want, or disable it and simply scan each slide as a separate file, capturing the entire frame, this seems simple enough, since both Canon and Epson scanners employ plastic slide holders to fix the location of the slide relative to the scanner so the Epson software always knows how to reliably split multiple slides without cropping, while the Canon software simply gives up. Another area where scanner software often fails to install. Epson installation procedure worked perfectly and did not even need a restart to start the scan. HP 4890 installation was a complete disaster: Poster of "easy install" giant contradiction with the scanner when the installer to connect the scanner: instructions explicitly said to connect the scanner before installing the driver, but he really ran the Windows installer could not connect and never recognized the new hardware, even though the installer said I could connect the scanner later - that was not true, even after uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting the HP (it took about 40 minutes), although the scanner seemed to be recognized by windows and was "on", the driver simply dropped for good when it comes to exploration. I told these details about the HP scanner, and placed very close to the Epson 4490 in terms of price and features, however, is completely useless. In this context, another important issue technical support, in the case with HP's phone support is not recommended and hard to find - even if you can not find phone numbers, the quality of HP support personnel abysmal, in my experience Epson, however, publish phone numbers Support prominent place in the instructions that came with your scanner. Maybe Epson is easier to pay to publish these figures since the products work well because very little technology. This made me feel very confident with the Epson. Now the big payoff - scanning! The image quality you get is directly related to ease of use in configuring the software for scanning. Although the Epson software is not perfect, is very useful and powerful. It does a reasonable job of containment configuration options and advanced features for the "dust removal and correction of the" Digital ICE "image is very impressive. The deficiencies in the software are as follows. 1st The ability parameter "save" is unequal: one can not name the saved settings, the saved settings only configure half of the parameters before the preview - you can not configure the use of "dust", etc. 'Digital ICE " but must manually assign these options for each scan 2. The prefix used for naming files of scanned images does not allow an invalid file name in Windows'. "3. Size parameter 'of the target can not be saved. The solution is to use the "resolution" of the image parameters instead (resolution = 2400 can be saved and is equivalent to the resolution = 300, size = 800% at Target.

After much research I had to find happiness, a photo scanner at the same time, the Epson Perfection V500 is now available. After scanning the first batch of 60 slides, I can highly recommend the unit. The most important capability of the device, especially for the price, which integrates technology ICE dust and scratch removal. It is, in a word, incredible. And, I saved many hours of extra work manually do the same work. There are no software-and dust in the Epson software included, but it is inefficient and can not be compared on the ice. I'm scanning at 2400 dpi, more than enough resolution for practical use other than heavy cropping and enlargement. I use compressed air "clean" the slides before scanning. When scanning with ICE turned off, the amazing amount of dust will be marked. Turn ICE and 98% of the dust is gone It will take more time to scan the ice, but the offset is the time saved many times it is not necessary to manually remove the powder post-scan. Photoshop Elements 4.0 included. I use Elements 6.0. So far, the device worked perfectly. The software installed on the first attempt itself. Front panel buttons can be reprogrammed for other than the default (for example, I changed the key to the e-mail attachment to start the OCR software included with the text.) A tip for those who buy this unit for slide and / or resume scanning, and scanning with ICE 2-4 slides at a time: Click on "All" in the preview window, after pre-scanning (preview) multiple slides to select all slides, then click the check box ICE to ensure that all slides are processed by ICE. You will not find this in the documentation or on the Epson website. I spent time figuring out why, all 4 slides not by ICE (I thought the unit was initially inadequate, since only the first slide, which is enabled by default, having been treated by the ICE) is treated, so now You know without spending the time I had I used the scanner for photos and documents and articles have converted to editable text, without any problems and very good results. Nevertheless, slide / film where it looks, thanks to ICE. 373 of 388 people found the following review helpful. What a great scanner !!!!!! N. Maher, I just bought this scanner - primarily to scan my 1000 + slides. At first I was hesitant, because this model is brand new in the market, and I was worried inital bugs. But I know that Epson makes a good product, so I took the chance. And I'm glad I did. It has some excellent features: 1 Very easy to set up and operate it. I have scanned my first photo within 30 minutes after unpacking the package. No problem with the software and user's guide online is really easy to follow second Very fast scanning. The scan (including preview) of photos is unbelievably fast. But I was really surprised at the speed of scanning slides. A normal scan (without the use of Digital ICE correction) of 4 slides took less than 5 minutes. Compared with some other products I've read about this is the speed of light. 3rd Very quiet. When scanning photos, you can hardly hear. A little 'more noise when scanning slides, but certainly not annoying. 4 It is equipped with 3 modes to choose from - Auto, Home and Professional. The car is easier and gives a very good picture. Home and Professional offers a set of right moves (more with the professional mode). I'm an intermediate user of Photoshop and the professional function is as close as possible using an editing program that I've ever seen. The scan time slows down a bit "when you use these tools to solve, but again - a big problem). When you get the hang of it, I'm sure that will accelerate the time it takes with Photoshop fifth Digital ICE is amazing! This function is used when only scanning film or slides. The first time you scan the photos without the need ..

For BBS, Bay Area, CA I installed this hardware on a new computer with Win'XP, so I had nothing that had to be removed. I chose the default installation does not, because I do not want the HP software, photo editing (I have Adobe Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Album) and have no use for the IRIS software to scanned documents into text files. The installation went well and my 35 mm slides, documents and tests were successful the first time. 35 mm slides scanned and can be assembled or disassembled. The scanner looks very simple to use and is a vast improvement over ten years of the scanner it replaces. Everything about the appearance of the scanner provides a high quality and so far I am very happy. The documentation that comes with the scanner is very limited, sufficient for the installation, but does not include any of the adjustable analysis parameters - you must go to the help files for 55 of 55 people found this review helpful. Very capable with a software design project Boogaloo curious - converting 800 slides in the family + Digital. After 100 to a photo lab (70! Ay!), Accidentally discovered today flatbed scanner 35 mm slide (and film strips) and gave him a chance with this HP. I am very happy with the results. **** 4.5 stars out of hardware features image when the software is mastered. He is very capable of producing results very satisfactory. *** 2.5 stars for the software of the image, which are both very capable and very annoying. The basic functions Flatbed scanning well. ********** Ten stars for the exploration of copies! It is impossible to distinguish between an original and scan at 600 dpi. Slide Project - Despite the volume, it was the five-image with good results very similar to a lab, it takes about one hour to 25 to 30 photos scanned at 600 dpi with activated basic color enhancements, including 6-color mode. The standard 300-dpi scan is faster but still takes 45 minutes. Forget the 1200 + dpi ... you get old and gray scanning five images with slightly better results. The large overhead Field / photos and select an image corrections. When finished, it takes about one minute. per image at 600 dpi. The software is a curious mix of goofy and high capacity and limitations. While the first preview scan to try to find each image, the screen is too small to waayy very helpful, but only by selecting the individual image for a larger preview re-scan. Oooofff ... time consuming. Why not simply zoom the preview first? Features pre-scan setting the crops are, brightness, contrast and correction of highly qualified and discrete selectable for each slide, but most of these functions on a file less post-scanning work at all It's why the preview is too small, can shock someone finiky About the best results. I found it effective to use other post-scan image for the final harvest, the JPEG compression and run a corrected-grain. Kodachrome slides nice scan of all ages. "Adaptive Lighting" gently corrects pre-scan global exposure during "restore faded colors" has a big task, the removal of color include infrared Ektachrome. The photo lab is not done! Not only do you get a single file for each slide, they can do the same with multiple documents. Anything that can fit on the bed of glass for individual files in a single scan are selected included a wide range of file formats for direct-to-PDF. Conclusion-It is definitely a better way to go, the quality of a large group of slides Practice with the software first, so enjoy those "Oldies but Goodies". I have posted sample scans the tag "Boogaloos Review", to include the software screens. 53 out of 55 people found this review helpful. High quality - scans hardware and Stephen Gibson, I also bought this to scan slides - however, while the slide is the standard slide size in the form of the holder, slide the film itself is square rather than rectangular like most modern slides (some are mine 1 , 44 "x 1.44"). For some reason, the default size of the crop when selecting 8800F uses 35mm slides not changed by the user. I wrote the company and got a new standard of response that basically said "we are not changing the software to make you happy." I think I've misunderstood, but whatever ... Luckily I found the answer quite by accident. It turns out to run the scanner for my situation (and maybe yours), I just had to uncheck the "Turn on / off thumbnail display mode" and it has allowed me to manually create the right size crops. This also means that I can use the support strips instead of 35 mm slides 35 mm slides and leave the old magazine featured a slide of metal, saving even more time to myself after discovering that I'm happy to say that this scanner is beyond my expectations and I am very happy now that I can not use my Konica Dimage Scan Dual IV with my Vista PC. The hardware is very strong and the speed is great. 1200 dpi scans in under a minute each. For more information on how to manually scan slides older, leave me your e-mail as a comment to this review. Meerloo BOX: The complete machine is much smaller and lighter than the previous scanner, with the dimensions of the same field of exploration. It comes with a USB connection and a separate power "brick" between the output and a scanner. Three exploration guides contain a combination of the two side by side 35 mm film strips (5 pictures in each) with closures curves flat strip, a guide to four standard-size slides and a tape holder 120 mm film, these guides fit into a certain place in the exploration of the surface so that they line up under the lid is mounted on the light source, covered by a removable shield. The lid is quite smooth, but it is necessary to open almost straight up to him to stay open without support. Latches thin guide strip 35mm film is very fragile, and already told me trying to download a curved strip of negatives. Drivers scanner, etc., a program for advanced image editing, as well as versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements (5.0 for Windows, 4.0 for the Mac) are included. SOFTWARE: I have not tried all the programs, but since I prefer to work in other programs for archiving and retouching images. In other words, was one of the training programs of the scanner (MP Navigator), I think there are some unnecessary steps and windows between the scan and backup job from a Mac, installing easy scanning with the scanner interface is very intuitive. Everything works quite smoothly, but there are occasional accidents software, and I can not queue a lot of images before the buffer of the program is completed (even with a surplus of RAM). Automatic recognition of images in pictures of slides or negative strips is very accurate, but it can be turned off, as another reviewer noted, and you can select your own area of interest or the entire filmstrip. STATISTICS:. "BLC" There are many ways to make as Unsharp Mask before scanning and to remove dirt and scratches, which has different levels to choose from, as well as "correction of the crop" and Although I usually see a beneficial effect of the Unsharp Mask (again, I work with high dpi settings), I noticed that turning the dust and scratches on one made a mess of the affected areas, leaving some specific spots, or completely intact I tend to make choices for the removal of dirt and scratches and correcting the grain completely off. I use the scanner software completely scanner.

Peterson I bought this scanner a month ago, thousands of pictures I've made in recent years to scan. I am not a professional photographer - my expectations were just to digitize my photos of the same quality as the photos I took with my 7MP digital camera. After getting the scanner (which was formed easily) I have an extensive set of tests to determine the correct settings (resolution, compression, etc.) and then decide on scanning my photos. Now I'm two thirds done with the job, I can say that it works well, but there are goods and evils. I have no experience with other film scanners so I can not tell you how this machine compared to others, but here's what I learned: * Many have complained about the lightness of the plastic slide holder. Mine has held up well so far, but I can not find any information anywhere about how I would get a replacement if he broke the one that comes with the scanner, which worries me a little * Epson website is very useful. They have a simple FAQ with some basic elements, but nothing really useful, and discussion groups. You are on your own. * As others have mentioned, the included software pretty basic, but I think it does the job. Have at least two annoying errors, however. One of them is that every time I scan preview a series of 12 slides, turns off the dust removal and / or Digital ICE selected. This means that you need to remember to back with each cycle, that I forget to do sometimes. There seems to be a way to save the settings, but even that is reset every cycle, so it is useless. Perhaps there is a way to do this right to work, but the lack of documentation gives no clues. * Another problem with software is the ability to recognize vertical or horizontal orientation of slides for the most part it does an excellent job with this, but sometimes you guess wrong, for example, do you think the slide is vertical when it actually is horizontal. This usually happens if the slide has a dark background. Unfortunately, when you guess wrong, gathered sides or top / bottom of the picture so you can not just turn 90 degrees. Most of the time when I noticed a wrong guess I was able to correct the slide by rotating 90 degrees and re-preview, but I have several pages where you are wrong and insist only on the software provides no way to override this behavior. Associated with bad behavior occurs if you have a slide that has a rectangle of light on a dark background, such as a stroke of the TV screen - in this case, try to enlarge a portion of the image, cropping off most of it including even some of the area of light. I can not in any way to defeat this behavior, it seems the only way is to tailor this type of image manually, which is very labor intensive * Another problem is a hardware design flaw that I am very surprised that no one mentioned. After carefully scanning my first several batches of slides and test results, I went into a mode to scan without taking the time to investigate each resulting image. After scanning with numerous film, I began to review the results and was horrified to find that some parties, there were two faint vertical lines (one green, one blue) some scans. I finally noticed that the lines on four consecutive slides from all 12 (slide holder contains 12 movies), so it was an indication seemed to be. Note that the top of the scanner has a transparent slit in the middle - it's definitely a sexy feature, so you can see where the scanner light and watch its movement. Well, he admits that other light in the scanner, at least under certain conditions of ambient light, ruining the exams of four slides in the middle column I found by taping a piece of cardboard on top of the scanner. And now I again scan images very confusing. * I really do.

I have thousands of old photos that would probably not benefit from a high resolution scanner, because they do not look all that many pictures. Many are family and pets and so I will keep and display them on my digital picture frame. The idea that I take pictures on a table without having to scan a computer was very appealing. When the unit arrived, I read the instructions. He tells you this clear plastic sleeves (one 3x5 and one for 4x6) use to scan your photos. Not. These things are poorly designed and will not get either right on the device caused a lot of new scans, or it will create lines in the picture. It tells you that in the package to protect the photo. Nonsense. I scanned a lot of pictures without them and was not even a hint of a problem since they left their sleeves and scanned directly into the unit, I was very pleased. Be aware that cultures of a few millimeters off of the original. The final product is reputable. You get a 1.5 mega-pixel jpeg 3x5 and 4x6 2 mega pixel is jpeg. This is good for viewing on a digital photo frame, but the resolution high enough to make any real issue or print enlargements. I have used up to 4 SD cards show and Utra II work well. There is also a compact flash slot so you can make use of some signs of age, if they are sitting around. In short, it works as advertised, but the end product is not a comparison, even for a flatbed scanner at low cost. 125 of 126 people found this review helpful. I love this scanner! By Marva Mason This is great for making revisions to 300 dpi. It's so fast and faster - much faster than putting photos on a flatbed scanner. I am impressed with the results and can simply sit and scan hundreds of photos (up to a 4x6 format), while the quality of television is great. I would recommend this scanner for all Pandigital, which has tons of pictures and want them on your computer or just to create digital images for backup. If ever an emergency, it is much easier to walk away with a memory card instead of boxes and boxes of photos. So far I have scanned over 4000 pictures and very satisfied with the results. Would love to see Pandigital come with a higher DPI device. I would buy first. 83 of 83 people found the following review helpful. Good for what it is, by K. Rule, I bought this scanner for several albums and many boxes of prints, I scan. Some are old, one-of-a-kind family photographs dating back to early last century. This scanner by my grandmother cried album (with 400 + images). I could scan about two hours, it's unbelievable. Yet I have not run into a few questions: 1) Some pictures just can not be fed right and you end up with a funky curve on the image. 2) Some images get stuck and need help. These images end with a lot of false information or back. 3) Some old photos from the 40's / 50's are small. They really need a higher resolution scanner can be used. There are a few things that would certainly improve this scanner. A battery, so it can be used without connecting it and a way to more safely an SD card. That way I could through it in a backpack and just use. Even with these problems, it is a very nice addition to the flatbed scanner, but it is not a replacement. See all 100 reviews ....

It has long been on the features and is truly a great round printer for home use. It was easy to install with the CD and it worked immediately without problems printing text on plain paper WiFi set is excellent and is almost comparable darkroom photographic reproduction. Note: I am using the printer on an Apple iMac with 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (for true connoisseurs, this is one of 17 "MA590LL / A in late 2007 model) I I'm running.'s next OS X 10.6.4 Mac and Windows 7 Home Edition Bootcamp. The printer that I'm comparing this model, the Canon MX310 is my old [Canon Pixma MX310 Office All-in-one Inkjet (2184B002 )], Amazon bought circa 2007 WHAT'S IN THE BOX:. The printer comes with a quick start configuration, troubleshooting, network, an initial package of 6 cartridges, paper, power cord for the head alignment printing and packaging sample of Canon 4 X 6 Glossy Photo Paper Plus II. Disconnecting the printer out of the box was par for the course, with the usual removal of caps and even extreme orange tape from the printer itself weighs 20 kg, so it's something more substantial than it looks and it's not petite at 18 , x 6 x 6.9 inches May 14. It has a small screen viewing, innovative touch screen that smoothly worked. It has an attractive, modern design and a glossy finish that really looks cool at first, but is a magnet for fingerprints. SET UP: You have almost a guide to tell you what to do, the printer can actually tell you what to do for yourself when you turn it on. Cart centers when using the device to open and place the print head in place is simple. The cartridges are color coded and easily fit into place. It is a thick, black cartridge only fit in one room, but the color cartridges are identical. They will fit in each other's tracks, but there is a guide on the head, making the investment a no brainer. Since each cartridge has its own microchip, I think the printer would you say any errors in the placement (not to spoil the color printing for the first race, I stuck with the program and did not prime the ink cartridges the machine when placed in the wrong slots.) Once closed, the machine quickly than the print heads and ask for the photo paper to the tray in the print head alignment. A few minutes later, this happens. Plain paper can then be loaded into the cassette slot in the front or rear-load, and you're off to the races. WARNING: A word about the ink cartridges - it's a completely new style!. This means that some time before or remanufactured cartridges are available for third party use. I replace an old HP scanner $ 600 with this and I am very pleased with the improvements so far. I use a dual boot 32bit XP / Vista 64-bit configuration with 3.1gig cpu amd x2 4gig and it works perfectly under Vista 64bit ram.So far. I downloaded the drivers and software appropriate and does not use the CD. Canon warns that might not work with another USB cable, 6ft, I tried a Belkin and it worked fine. HP will not work with anything other than sending cards. The software and front panel buttons work without any problems. I've had some trouble learning to use the software without the manual is a good indication of how easy it is if you already have some experience. Examines negative far better than the HP I have ever done. Scans images are much better too. I think it touches software so far, but have much more time with him one last thought for Thia scanner is much better than the HP. I have a Cannon printer and had no need to call their customer support so far. When I updated drivers for the HP scanner tried, where I and many others said they do not support Vista. Given the cost + $ 600 scanner and the large number of them still in use, I feel that the sorry state of customer support from HP shows. That's why I worked for my Canon printer and scanner. I will not buy anything from HP ever again. 48 of 52 people found the following review helpful. For the first major macnmaine Scanner I bought this scanner because I have many slides 20-25 years old I want to scan, then throw it away to reduce clutter. It was easy to install and the results are better than I expected. Photos much better than my HP 4 in 1. It will also scan negatives, but not as well as slides. It was hard to find a scanner to scan slides and work on a Mac that does both very well. 85 of 100 people found this review helpful. Good and evil - TBD T. Johnson, I just bought the CanoScan 5600F. Took it home, followed the quick installation instructions and all. First let me clarify a few errors: 1. The scanner box has a label that says "do not forget to buy a USB cable, not included!" But in reality it was a USB cable with me. In fact, there is a warning to only use this cable, or might not work. Canon, get your act together! I'm glad it comes with a cable, but cable is too short to reach my computer, and if it is true that you can use a USB cable, so what should I do? Canon has no accessories on its website. 2nd I read that this scanner is USB, but it is not. There is a power cord (not just a cable adapter that is a plus). Powered by USB would have been nice, but I'm not sure a USB cable has enough power to do so for a scanner anyyway 3. Do not want to be a warm-up required for this scanner, but it is a warm-up short-term (perhaps 5-10 seconds), sometimes before the scan. The scans themselves are nice and fast. I had to make some changes to the settings before you can really do any analysis. It seems that the settings and preferences in all directions, and many screens to waste time - I was hoping something simple. I hope to find a quick and easy way to make copies, scan documents, photos and scans. So far, I could not get the scanner to perform the functions of the buttons on the scanner without having to click something in the software on your computer. This is a big obstacle for me, because I wanted to be able to make copies using touch a button on the scanner (printing on my color laser printer). I'm still trying to solve this problem and provide product support will soon be a call to the extent actually scanning device seems to do a good job at first sight - it's fast and.
