More useful customer on 35 of 39 people found this review helpful. With Scanner horrible Johnny Wong just bought this one today and I'll be back soon. The software installation CD did not work, says there is a file called hpzrein01 failed. Once I was able to download the software from HP 168Mb, the problem still persists. I tried two different laptops (Windows XP) and the problem was the same. Eventually I managed to download only the drivers without the full software. Scans are horribly done. I wanted to use it to scan photos, but continues to scan the cover, there is the entrance to the negatives. That means I had to crop the image to obtain the actual size of the photo. In addition, the scan was super slow, I can not believe that this product actually came out of the market. I'm sorry, but all that HP has given the green light for this product should go look for another job. HP would be (and the world) a favor 18 of 20 people found this review helpful. HP Scanjet G3110 by James B. Berry bought the Scanjet G3110 digital switchover especially my 2 "x 2" color collection of 35 mm slides. Scanning at 400 ppi has produced many colors beyond 2000 x 2000 format. Importing files into iPhoto first scanning for its editing and display options, has resulted in a conversion update satisfactory to use today's technology options. A new life for these images of mine, who have not seen the light in 39 years, was the opportunity to bequeath to future generations of the family. The scanner is at the base, with a solid 35mm slide or negative adapter built into the lid, a menu of options for analyzing multi-format backup files. It works! I would buy another and another. 20 of 23 people found this review helpful. Escape the scanner Maria A. Denney HP Scanjet G3110 Photo Scanner I bought this scanner from another source and you can not go to the store fast enough, is not designed to do several scans in a row - instantly take you to the "creative" side when you are finished scanning so that you must go back to analysis and other programs to scan multiple images. It will not allow setting dpi early and do not remember any settings between scans. Mine takes 55 seconds to scan an image at 300 dpi and are not multiple images placed on the bed. It also crashed my Windows XP system several times and completely locked the computer twice. You would be better to pay a few dollars more and buy a scanner REAL! Not even worth one star.
